• Are there age restrictions? This question mostly relates to the weight and size of the child. If the child weighs less than 85lbs and is older than 6 years old they can “ride along” with an adult. If the child weighs more than 100lbs and is older than 10 years old they may be able to ride a paddleboard on their own with adult supervision.

  • Is there a maximum weight for the boards? Yes, the maximum weight for our paddleboards is 230lbs.

  • Do the tours include equipment? Yes, we provide you all the equipment you need for a good time. This includes the paddleboard, paddle, pfd, and even a ridiculously good looking guide.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation PolicyCustomers may cancel at least 48 hours prior to their rental date to receive a full refund minus a $7 service fee. Customers that cancel after the 48 hour period will be subject to a $25 cancellation fee and $5 service fee. If weather is unfavorable, the rental/tour may be rescheduled for a later time/date. No-shows will not be refunded. Customer may make changes to the reservation without any fees as long as it’s outside the 48 hour cancellation period. Groupons will not be refunded once the voucher has been redeemed and a reservation made. Groupon customers may change the date up to 48 hours in advance. Cancelled tours will be rescheduled.

  • Is there an equipment care policy?

Equipment Care: It is expected that equipment will be returned in the same working order it was received. Renter shall bear the risk and responsibility of and for any and all damage, loss or theft of the Stand Up Paddleboards and Equipment, or any portions thereof, including, but not limited to vandalism or theft, and shall pay Driftwood Paddleboard Adventures the full cost of repair or replacement. Any pre-existing damages will need to be brought to the staff attention PRIOR to rental/tour otherwise it will be assumed that the damage occurred during the rental period upon return.

Do you provide the equipment? If so is the price included in the tour?

    • oraboard101 July 14, 2014 at 7:48 pm #

    What do we wear?

    • oraboard101 July 14, 2014 at 7:46 pm #

Thats a great question! We recommend that you wear either a swimsuit or fitness clothing. Clothing that if you do end up going in the big drink you can dry off relatively quickly so avoid cotton!

Interested in trying this next summer with my din (age 12). Do you offer any beginners sessions? Neither of us have done this before but it looks so much fun! And I would not want to hold back a more experienced tour group.

    • oraboard101 October 30, 2014 at 2:21 pm #

We would love to have you guys come out! Typically during one of our Sunset Tours your tour guide will hang back with those that want more support or some coaching on technique, etc. So you wouldn’t be holding the group back at all! We look forward to seeing you next summer!

When do paddleboard adventures begin again?

    • oraboard101 March 16, 2015 at 9:21 pm #

Thats a great question! Our SUP Adventures typically begin in mid-May but it all depends on the weather. If you haven’t liked our Facebook page yet make sure to do so! That is where we will be posting all of our pre-season upcoming events including demo days. Hope to see you out on the water!

Can a pregnant woman do this?

    • Paul Jones May 19, 2016 at 5:33 pm #

Great question Mel and yes we have had many expectant mothers out paddling. In fact we had on last weekend. Just as long as cleared for activity by their doctor

Do you rent out paddle boards or have tours during the weekdays?

    • Driftwood August 18, 2015 at 4:33 pm #

Yes, we do offer tours during the weekdays! They are our Sunset Tours and run in the evenings. Depending on the day we are at different lakes. Just navigate to our “Book” tab to view the weekday calendar. We don’t offer overnight rentals but if you want to meet us out at the lake when we are already there and we have some extra boards we can get you out on the water!

Hi! My friend and I have already registered for a session and were wondering if the guide was able to take photos of us while paddle boarding. We’d love to share the experience with friends and have seen photos taken, so we didn’t know if that could be included. Thanks!

    • Paul Jones July 11, 2016 at 7:52 pm #

Yes, we will take photos and post them on facebook for you to retrieve. Look forward to having you on the lake

  10. Jenae July 11, 2016 at 7:38 pm #

If we book a tour, how long are we able to use the paddle board?

    • Paul Jones July 11, 2016 at 7:54 pm #

Most tours last 90 – 120 minutes depending on weather and how long people want to stay out. We ask that they are returned by the two hour window

Thanks and look forward to seeing you on the lake

Can you rent paddle boards or only purchase a “tour”? if so what is the hourly rate?

    • Paul Jones July 24, 2016 at 3:03 am #

If you have paddle boarded before we give a code to repeat customers for 20% off. So this comes out to around $30 for a couple of hours including tax and booking

  12. Eve August 15, 2016 at 2:02 am #

Do you have any larger boards for a big guy (250 lbs)?

    • Paul Jones August 15, 2016 at 2:19 am #

Our boards will usually hold up to 280 if the person has good balance and it is not a windy day standing up. Even then many people will stay on their knees or sit and have a great time

      Thanks for the question

Is there a minimum amount of people needed
    for a particular time slot?

    • Paul Jones August 18, 2016 at 7:39 pm #

We will have multiple people or groups book into a time slot up to around 12 total. For a minimum if we only have 2 people book in we sometimes will combine them with other groups if available to make the adventure more enjoyable.

Hello, do you allow dogs on your boards? I tried Pup SUP with my dog at Lake Cunningham last year and we both loved it. I’d like to visit other lakes too.

    • Vernon Benes May 29, 2018 at 4:00 pm #

Yes we allow dogs and many of our guides will bring their dogs along for the day. Look forward to having you out on the lake soon

How soon do we have to arrive before the scheduled paddle board time?

    • Vernon Benes June 7, 2018 at 9:10 pm #

10 to 15 minutes ahead to get sized for the equipment and sign the releases is great Thanks for asking and once registered you will get an email with all the instructions, releases attached and what to bring

  17. Tess July 6, 2018 at 3:27 pm #

Is there a separate charge for my little boy to “ride along”?

    • Vernon Benes September 2, 2018 at 12:48 pm #

Sorry I missed this one but we do not charge extra for children to ride along as long as you have their own life vest

  18. venkat September 1, 2018 at 9:54 pm #

Can kids under 6 join with adult?

    • Vernon Benes September 2, 2018 at 12:46 pm #
